Re: Cargo weight revamping Unread post

Ok, so I didn't finish the Andrews trucks. However, I did get Bettendorf trucks to about the same stage.

Which is cool because Bettendorf's were the main type of truck from the mid 1930's through to the 1950's, and I thought we should have them too. Not really necessary, but they'll add a little more interest for not much trouble. Only have to make them once, then they can be copied into any skin. (0!!0)

Hopefully I'll be able to finish the Bettendorf's and the Andrews ones tomorrow.

Re: Cargo weight revamping Unread post

Almost done. Just a bit more detailing left to do, then I can start using them. :-D

Re: Cargo weight revamping Unread post

Sorted. !*th_up*! They can go on freight cars now.

Edit: Threw them on some freight cars. Previous shot was just a screenshot of the large scale PSD. I've now converted them to smaller individual DDS images, with proper alpha channel masking, so they can be copy/pasted into any RT3 skin. Here's what they look like on the proposed C and D era double tank cars.

Them trucks 'n' wheels is ok. Them ones I can live with. (0!!0)

Re: Cargo weight revamping Unread post

Got the C era unit (1900-1924) all sorted and ready for export. Gotta go do some things, but I'll export it tonight and run some tests. !*th_up*!

The next one, for the D era (1925-1950) is basically the same unit, except with skinning for Betterndorf trucks and a larger tank, so that should happen pretty quickly. A era and F era are already done. B, E and G eras are mostly done and should be easy enough. Given other-stuff-which-I-must-do, I'm expecting a finished double tanker set around the end of the week.

Didn't export the C tanker. Decided to finish the D instead. Exporting tomorrow night. ;-)

Glad you like them, although I'm not sure if "not doing anything since February" equals "moving right along".
But yes, some movement is currently in evidence.

Re: Cargo weight revamping Unread post

Well, I haven't exported a @%@^! thing yet, but I have got the B era tankers ready for export. :-D
xTankerB_sorted.jpg
This means there's only E and G eras to go, and those ones are going to be a piece of cake. Should be able to knock them off tomorrow, then I'll do a major hex session and sort game files for the lot of them (except A and F eras, which have already been tested live). It's looking good for the weekend, assuming RT3 behaves itself. *!*!*!

Re: Cargo weight revamping Unread post

Meh. Didn't knock the G era off. Only got E done, since I had to do quite a bit of rearranging and tweaking on the mesh and UV mapping. Still needs a bit of work on the skinning, but not much. The same basic layout (UV mapping, etc) gets used for the G era, so having sorted the E unit out I'll be able to do G pretty quickly tomorrow. !*th_up*!
