In case you're interested, here's a list of mods (they call them extensions now) I have installed on the forum.

Ok, I can mess around with a couple of those too.

FWIW, there's a good place to do some research on hosting and domain registrars. It's WebHostingTalk.

I think I'll just stick with people I know and trust. ;-) Could spend years going through every possible option.

Anyway, got 3.2.0 set up on local, and it all seems to work. Haven't tried an upgrade yet but will look at that. IIRC it's a bit of a PITA for phpBB, unless you're running a pure vanilla installation, but it's not going to be rocket science.

I just want to say thank you Gumboots! I'm prone to disappearing for months or years at a time, so I wouldn't be a reliable steward, but lemme know if you ever need any help with hawkdawg down the road. And no, it doesn't need to be urgent, I was really thinking long term. I know I'm going to be coming back and playing this game for as long as I live, and it's 100% because of Hawk. Thanks Hawk! :salute:

Should be a pretty easy gig. Low traffic, non-controversial content. Luxury.

And I know what you mean about always coming back to this one.I think I'll be the same.

I guess it's probably best to disable all extensions when upgrading phpBB, then just add them back in, if their compatible - if you even want them.

I'll just mess around with it and see what I can break. Doesn't matter if I trash a few test sites on local. If one explodes, just delete the directory and db and make another one. Only takes a few minutes. !*th_up*!

I've had a bit of a play with a test site. Seems to be pretty easy to upgrade. Not as convenient as some other forums, but not a huge drama.

Template code is pretty gruesome stuff. Definitely not my preferred coding style. CSS isn't too bad. Admin centre seems generally sensible.

Ok, it's a forum.
